Children are learning and developing constantly through their habits and different activities. At an early age like 1-or 2 years old toddler can Self-Feeding and this habit can be a big challenging step in developing independents. And It’s also challenging for parents to teach them how to feed themselves at mealtimes.

 

Some tips to help foster self-feeding skills in your children

 

Here, we’re really incited to share a few tips for feeding your little baby with their own hand and efforts as well as providing you some process to develop their important skills that will be helpful for their life.

 

We all know that toddlers are fond of learning new things from their surroundings. So, parents should use some measures such as–

1. At the beginning give your baby some solid food like fruits pieces or any kind of soft snacks or cookies. Then let them do whatever they want to do, don’t discourage them.

2. Parents should eat their meals in front of their toddler because they notice and like to follow their parents. Family meals are a wonderful learning opportunity.

3. Always praise them for their every step for finishing the food. Your parents can give you some colorful, interesting and separate spoon and table that will attract the child to sit there and eat with their own hands. Doesn’t matter if they waste food or things.

4. If your toddler can’t understand the process of self-feeding, sit with them and try to talk with them about multiple foods and hold hands to teach the proper technique for self-feeding.

5. prepare table food that is soft and in small bite sized pieces. It shouldn’t be too large and obviously that should be easier to pick up with their fingers or spoon.

 6. Let your toddler practice self-feeding every day at a fixed time. Learn them clean their mess as well as strengthen their skills and as a result, they will create less mess with time.

Remember one thing that parents shouldn’t force children to self-feed. just follow their mood if he/she is ready or not. Give them time and opportunities and make a little Practice every day. You know, slow and steady is an important thing.

There are some growth issues for some children so, some of child has not grown or eating properly. At that time, parents takes less priority about self-feeding. Don’t get anxious, proper monitoring can bring change to self-feeding gradually.
